JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, electrical equipment, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and systematically troubleshoots, causes of trouble maintains all plant equipment in a good working order.
• Repair electrical equipment. Strong background in electrical troubleshooting.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
• Manages inventory in the Maintenance Shop, via electronic system.
• Implement and maintain electronic Preventative Maintenance Management Program.
• Overhead crane knowledge and experience required.
• Operates aerial lifts and other equipment as needed.
• Identifies when outside vendors/service providers need to be involved in the process.
• Follows proper lockout procedures for equipment.

Education and/or Experience:
Plant Maintenance – 5 Years of experience (Required)
Electric Apprentice – 3 Years of experience (Required)

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
