JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summary: 
Assist with the loading and off loading all products safely and efficiently for on time delivery.
 
Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

Help to provide ground guidance to the crane operator while loading and unloading is in process
Inspect all slings and rigging daily
Assist with rigging and know and follow all rigging guidelines to safely and accurately move yard product
Know and follow all dunnage requirements to safely and accurately store or ship yard product
Assist the crane operator in locating product scheduled to be shipped
Remain alert and attentive at all times to assure safe handling of product including danger zones, pinch points swinging rigging and moving equipment
Verify accuracy and condition of all loads leaving the yard.
Visually inspect product during handling for quality. Report damaged or broken pieces to the Yard Supervisor
Maintain awareness and avoid all pinch points.
Remove snow and ice from trailer decks before product is set.  Salt dunnage and trailers when needed.
Maintain housekeeping and order in the yard as time allows and yard requires ensuring an orderly and safe yard.  Follows all safety accountability rules.
Supply the Rebar bending area with bar for production needs
Performs other routine duties.
Must adhere to all Kerkstra Precast and MiOSHA safety rules.
Must work within the attendance policy guidelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education or Equivalent:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
Basic Math/Algebra Skills
General Riggning Knowledge
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to other employees. 
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
