JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Summary: 
Moves trailers from plant to yard (and back when empty) and stages loaded trailers for delivery by performing the following duties.

Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
• Operates tractor to move trailers into position for loading and unloading within yard.
• Moves yard trailers into plant to receive finished product.
• Stage trailers in correct rows in yard prior to crane arrival.
• Puts all miscellaneous hardware on shipping trailer before pick-up for delivery to construction site.
• Checks all loads for proper loading prior to shipping.
• Removes waste from yard trailers.
• Remove snow from trailers before entering production area.
• Monitors placement of product in yard, recording location for retrieval.
• Unload scrap product for disposal or rework.
• Visually inspect product during handling for quality.
• Inspect equipment daily to insure safety and proper operations.
• Operate powered industrial lift truck as required.
• Cleans work area, trailers, and equipment. Performs other routine duties.
• Must adhere to all Kerkstra Precast and MiOSHA safety rules.
• Must work within the attendance policy guidelines.
 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education or Equivalent:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
